What you will learn

Students build a strong foundation in SPFX safety and 2D painting techniques while beginning to plan their final character design. This session encourages creative thinking as they sketch ideas and map out how they’ll bring their character to life using the skills they’ll learn throughout the course.

Students learn to paint realistic bruises by understanding the life cycle of a bruise and how colours change as it heals. They’ll also explore techniques for creating convincing sickness and death effects using safe 2D painting methods.

Students discover how to shape and apply scar wax to create multiple realistic wound effects. They’ll practice building simple injuries while developing sculpting and blending skills.

Students learn safe techniques to create realistic 1st, 2nd & 3rd degree burns using liquid latex. They’ll explore colour blending and texture to bring heat and frostbite effects to life.

Students will expand on the latex technique to add depth and forms to their creations.

Students sculpt their own design in clay, learning how to shape and detail a prosthetic piece. They’ll create a mould ready for casting in future sessions.

Students will finalise thier sculpts before creating a mould wall around their sculpt & pouring their negative mould, this session teaches students how to handle silicone materials responsibly & set up their project for a successful, professional result.

Students will then have the opportunity to apply a small silicone wound in preparation for custom piece

Students complete their positive mould using safe casting techniques and learn how a latex prosthetic is made through a live demonstration. This session combines hands-on practice with professional insights into prosthetic creation.

In this extended final session, students apply their custom prosthetic and use all the techniques they’ve learned to create a complete character look. It’s their chance to combine skills, experiment with creative ideas and see their work come together in one finished design.

Yes. Every student will receive a certificate of completion to recognise their participation and achievement in the program.
