SPFX Home School Learner Program

BLOCK 1 & 2

Give your homeschool learner the chance to explore the world of movie magic with our hands-on Special Effects (SPFX) Makeup Workshops. Designed for ages 10 and up, our studio sessions run in small groups so every child receives personal guidance and support. We utilise diverse teaching methods, including direct instruction, guided discovery and experiential learning, to cater to different learning styles and help every student thrive.

Choose between a 4 week or 8 week block and watch their imagination come alive as they learn beginner-friendly and age appropriate special effects techniques in a fun and engaging environment. All content is drawn from nationally recognised courses and delivered by qualified artists to provide an authentic learning experience that supports your homeschool learning goals. Each session encourages creative thinking while building practical skills and confidence in a supportive studio setting.

Our 4 week SPFX Homeschool Course offers an inspiring introduction to the art of special effects makeup. Through these one hour 15 minute sessions each week, students explore beginner-friendly techniques in a fun, supportive studio environment that meets homeschooling art curriculum requirements.

Guided by a qualified instructor, students enjoy live demonstrations and plenty of hands-on practice as they build their skills and confidence. Throughout the course, they’ll learn how to safely work with SPFX materials and create realistic effects. Each session encourages creative thinking, artistic expression and experimentation while providing a solid foundation for further SPFX learning
